Big News – We're Looking to Make the Miniature World That Bit Bigger
The idea we've been quietly working on: a proper Model Village & Garden Railway for Jersey, featured in the JEP.
We're really excited to share that the plans for the new Model Village & Garden Railway have been featured in the Jersey Evening Post.
If you've not heard about the project yet, the idea is simple:
- A miniature village set in landscaped gardens
- A working garden railway (obviously!) running through it
- Family activities like ride-on trains, gold panning and remote-controlled diggers
- Plus a café, gift shop and plenty of space to relax
It's still early days, but it's great to see the vision starting to get some attention. The plan is a fictional miniature world of towns, working railways and handcrafted landscapes, proposed for a site in St John, with work aiming to start in Summer 2026 subject to planning approval.
You can keep up with all the updates over at modelvillage.je - that's where we'll post news, sneak peeks, and ways to get involved.
Why we're doing this
This isn't just about creating something fun for visitors - we want it to be a place for the whole community to enjoy. Somewhere families can spend a few hours together, schools can visit, and locals can be proud of.
Thanks so much for the support so far. Every bit of encouragement really helps keep the project moving forward.
