Today, we are thrilled to share our recent Open Day event that not only brought joy to railway enthusiasts but also made a significant difference in the lives of our furry friends. With sunny skies overhead, our garden railway community came together to raise over £1,000 for Finni’s Ark Animal Sanctuary.
The day couldn’t have been more perfect for our Open Day. Gloriously warm sunshine, creating a delightful atmosphere for everyone (and a touch of sunburn for Curtis). The vibrant colors of blooming flowers and the gentle breeze added an extra touch of magic to the already charming garden railway setting. It was as if the elements were conspiring to make this day unforgettable.
Visitors were greeted by the sight of trains and intricate railway tracks winding their way through the lush greenery. The trains, were in top-notch condition and ready to provide hours of entertainment to visitors of all ages.
From steam engines gracefully puffing away to modern electric trains whizzing by, the variety of rolling stock brought a sense of nostalgia and excitement to the event. Enthusiasts young and old marveled at the attention to detail and craftsmanship on display. The joyful laughter and awe-filled expressions of children and adults alike painted a picture of pure delight.
Beyond the joy of witnessing trains in action, the true highlight of the day was our collective effort to support a local animal sanctuary. Garden railway enthusiasts, together with our generous visitors, opened their hearts and wallets to contribute to this noble cause. Through entry fees and refreshments we managed to raise an impressive £1,023 that will go towards providing care and support for our furry friends in need.
